It took 3 months after the events of the original game. Having taken part in suppressing the uprising of the Order of the Flaming Rose and defending the king from an assassin, in the second part of the game Geralt is in the heart of the political maelstrom of the kingdom Thémereau. He begins his own investigation, trying to understand who and what killed the rulers of the Northern Kingdoms and why the killers are so similar to The Witcher. The investigation will lead Geralt to the headwaters of the river Pontar in the troubled land on the border between Thémereau, Kaedvenom and Aedirnom. It was in that forest edge to face the most powerful force in the world. In search of The Witcher to help various characters - like old friends (Buttercup, Triss, Zoltan), and new acquaintances.

Also, during the trip, Geralt begins to remember details of his past. It is not known how newly acquired memory can influence the action of the Witcher. And where some people have gone out of his memories?
